Revoke organization licenses

In 10Duke SysAdmin, you can revoke licenses from organizations.

This article covers the different ways to revoke a license, either temporarily or permanently.

Suspend an organization license

You can suspend an organization’s license by deactivating it on the organization’s Entitlements page. You can later resume a suspended license from the same place if needed.

Another option is to change the validity end date to set the license as expired.

Revoke credit from an organization license

You can revoke credit from an organization’s license by revoking all of the license’s seats, use count, or use time on the organization’s Entitlements page.

Delete an organization license

You can permanently delete licenses from an organization:

  1. In the left sidebar, go to ENTITLEMENTS > Organization.

  2. Search and select the organization, and click Confirm.

  3. Select the entitlement that you want to delete licenses from.

  4. On the Licenses tab, select the licenses you want to delete and select Actions > Delete.

  5. Click Confirm to confirm the deletion.

If a user or a device client is currently consuming the license that was deleted, they are able to continue consuming the license until the license lease expires or the client application tries to refresh the lease, whichever comes first.

If needed, you can delete all of the organization’s licenses in one go by deleting the organization’s entitlements.

A license is also automatically deleted if you delete the associated licensed item or you delete the license model used by the license item.

Revoke access to an organization license

One option is to not touch the license itself but revoke access to it.

To revoke access from all of the organization’s users, remove all the user groups’ access to the organization’s entitlements. This revokes access to all of the entitlements’ licenses for all users who belong to the groups.

If you need to revoke access to an organization license from individual users, remove them from all the user groups that can access the license. Check which user groups are authorized to access the entitlement that holds the license, and then remove the users from those groups from each user’s user account or from each user group’s page.

In the same way, you can revoke access from all device clients by removing access from all the device client groups, or revoke access from individual device clients by removing them from the authorized device client groups.

In the 10Duke OrgAdmin tool, the organization’s administrator is also able to block a user or device client from using a seat-based license.

You can even remove a user’s access to any licenses (both organization or personal) in the system by ending their user account’s validity time.
